Cardiovascular risk in Type 2 Diabetes


Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the leading cause of death among the non-communicable diseases (NCDs). By reducing the prevalence of behavioral (CVD) risk factor like diabetes. According to the National NCD Risk Factors Survey in 2007, the prevalence of diabetes mellitus (DM) was 14.3%, hypertension (HTN) was 38.2%, and high cholesterol level was 40.6%. Mortality from cardiovascular disease is increased by a factor of two to three in persons with diabetes as compared with the general population.
